The Realm of Faerie

One evening while roaming the valley alone
I saw a green glimmer of misty light
And it came from the top of a ringstone mound
I was drawn to the magical sight

And it’s “Hey-O, join in the dance
Come below, go, do take a chance
Where the hallways are hammered from gold
And with us you will never grow old!”
Or so you are told

O, the revelry lasted until the bright sun
All through the green trees did shine
And my feet they were weary from dancing so free
And my head was befuddled with wine

I awoke to find they were gone
All my friends had aged and passed on
Eighty years had swept by in a dream
And the world was no longer green
O, let me come in
Where I have seen
The Realm of Faerie!
